10 Easy Pick Me Ups

Having a rough day? In need of a break?
Try one of these sure shot pick me ups.

1. Reconnect with an old friend... we all have a dear friend that we've lost touch with. It takes only a minute to send a quick email or make a quick call to say hello. You'll both be glad you did.

2. Do something from your "pre" mommy days that you used to enjoy and haven't done lately. Here are a few suggestions:

    * treat yourself to a manicure
    * go to the movies
    * have lunch with a friend
    * read your favorite magazine or a book that has nothing to do with parenting and children
    * get your hair done


3. If you work outside of the home, take a mental health day. Not enough leave? Leave work an hour or two early. Use the time to do whatever you want! If you are a stay at home mom, take a mental health day!

4. Put on your favorite CD and sing and dance until your heart's content

5. Make a list of all that you are grateful for.

6. Write your son/daughter a letter telling him/her all the things you love about him/her and put it in his/her baby book for safe keeping.

7. Indulge yourself with a free makeover from the mall.

8. Treat yourself to some beautiful stationary or similar inexpensive luxuriating item like one or two pieces of fancy chocolate or a new lipstick.

9. On a beautiful day, take a walk, clear your head, and soak in the rays and sights.

10. Call someone who always makes you feel good when you talk to them.
